Workshops

Care Community Education can offer a range of free and tailored workshops for community groups or organisations. These workshops are designed to support people experiencing financial stress, provide information, awareness and practical tools on a range of money management topics, and to help build skills for long-term financial wellbeing. 

Get to Know Care 

Our Get to Know Care session can give you a complete idea of all the services and programs Care provides. We advise that organisations book a Get to Know Care session as it a great way to strengthen your team's knowledge of Care and increase confidence in referring clients to us. This session can also empower client groups with information and a touchpoint for self referral to access our programs. 

Budgeting for life

Managing money is like any life skill - it takes practice and know how.  The session is aimed at empowering participants to identify existing skills and to build on these to become more financially resilient. Learn essential budgeting skills to help you plan, save, and manage your money effectively. 
 

How to talk money with your clients

This workshop is designed to assist frontline workers to increase skills and knowledge in supporting clients experiencing financial stress. Recognise the signs of financial hardship and financial abuse, learn to help and not hinder when someone is struggling with financial stress, and understand the roles of financial counsellors and consumer credit lawyers + appropriate referral pathways. 
 

Step-by-step Budgeting

Detailed and practical guide to creating and maintaining a budget, based on a case study that you can tailor and put into practice at home.
 

Surviving Debt

Understand your options when facing debt, including strategies for managing repayments and negotiating with creditors.
 

Credit Options

Community Loans: Learn about safe, affordable loan options and how to avoid high-cost, risky lending.
 

Scam Awareness

Build your knowledge to identify scams and protect your finances and personal information. Know where you can get more help.
 

Your Consumer Rights and Responsibilities

Understand your rights under Australian consumer law and where to go when things go wrong or don't feel right.
 

Home Energy Efficiency - Beat the Energy Bill
