Principal Solicitor

Care is hiring a new Principal Solicitor!
Principal Solicitors are supervised by and report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. You will work collaboratively alongside Care Inc’s leadership team, on strategic initiatives and operational matters as determined by the Board and Chief Executive Officer.

As Principal Solicitor, you will lead and drive our legal services working in partnership with other Principal Solicitors. You will manage a multi-disciplinary team to deliver legal advice and representation for people experiencing debt, credit and other consumer law problems, often arising from financial hardship and vulnerabilities. You will also shape the national and local advocacy work in consumer law, energy justice and financial rights.

Required qualifications include Bachelor of Laws Degree, with substantial experience (5+ post years). Admission as a solicitor enabling you to practice as a solicitor in the Australian Capital Territory. Hold, or be eligible to hold, an unrestricted practicing certificate enabling unsupervised legal practice in the Australian Capital Territory.
