Energy support programs
Whether you’re a homeowner or you rent when it comes to home energy needs it can be difficult to know where to start. Care offers a range of energy support programs that can help you when it comes to managing your energy bills.
Energy support voucher program
In 2017 the ACT Government, ActewAGL and Care launched the Energy Support Voucher Program (ESVP), which was in response to a spike in energy prices. The program is designed to help anyone experiencing energy stress. To date, the program has delivered over 3,000 vouchers to Canberra households. Through this program we can:

provide a $100 voucher off energy bills for ActewAGL customers (eligibility applies)

ensure you are receiving your utility concession

update your budget if requested

explore a payment plan that suits you

arrange a plan with your energy provider financial hardship team to help reduce any outstanding arrears

assist with referrals to other programs within Care

establish goals around your energy requirements/usage

refer through to ACT Government energy programs

Home Energy Tune-Up
The Home Energy Tune-Up initiative is a partnership between Care and Vinnies, with funding from the ACT Government. Through this initiative, Care and Vinnies can help you plan effective strategies to tune-up your home energy needs.

Care can help you review your energy bills and usage, set up bill-paying systems, ensure you have access to concessions and rebates. If needed we can also link you to utility hardship programs.

Vinnies' Energy Efficiency team can help increase your home's comfort and find the best ways to save on energy costs - more info can be found here.
