Assistance Beyond Crisis  

The Assistance Beyond Crisis (ABC) loan program offers interest free loans for people who have experienced or left a domestic or family violence situation.

The loans provide immediate financial assistance where no other options are available, and can include finance for:

  • legal costs

  • household goods/white goods

  • vehicle related costs

  • childcare/education costs

  • housing costs

  • medical/dental expenses, and

  • electrical/electronic items.

  • Eligibility criteria 

To be eligible for the program, you must:

  • have experienced or left a domestic violence situation

  • live or work in the ACT or surrounding NSW 

  • have a moderate incomes (approximately $50l - 100k per annum) 

  • How much can you borrow?

You can borrow up to $5000, with a maximum loan term of 3 years. Your capacity to repay is a determining factor to how much can be borrowed.  (Rewrite - how much to borrow / more detail )

  • Application process

After applying, your eligibility will be assessed. If your application fits the eligibility criteria, you will be contacted by the microfinance worker either by phone or email to arrange a convenient appointment time. 

Referall forms (seperate section)Note that a referral form must be completed and submitted prior to making an appointment. These are available from Community Service Organisations who with domestic violence (DV) clients such as DVCS, EAP providers, allied health services or medical professionals.
